Over the last sixteen years, Sue Gibbons, a speech therapist, has coached hundreds of non-native speakers from around the world to sound better, feel more confident, and be successful in the North American work environment.
In 1985 Ms. Gibbons started Clear Speech and Communication, a consulting firm specializing in oral speech skills for non-native speakers of English. She co-founded Speak Up English for Business in 1996 to deliver professional English training programs throughout the Bay Area.
As the Director of Clear Speech and Communication, Ms. Gibbons designed the presentation skills course "On Your Feet...and speaking effectively" that has been offered at the Bank of America, Levi Strauss Company, the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Chiron Corporation, Pacific Bell, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Wells Fargo Bank and Xerox Corporation. Ms. Gibbons coaches individuals of all language backgrounds in honing and perfecting their presentation skills.
Ms. Gibbons graduated Phi Beta Kappa in secondary education from the University of Vermont and earned a Master's degree in speech pathology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Licensed by the state of California, she holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
